Today this joystick arrived: http://www.vesalia.de/e_compproretro.htm
Great fun on classic shoot 'em ups like Demon Attack and Galaxian!
The joystick takes getting use to though - higher inertia but more precision than the cheaper 80ies sticks - Atari400/Commodore.
Got myself a great joystick

I was tempted to get one but after the slating the USB version got I was kinda put off. So, do you think it was worth the money?
I use one of the old Competition Pro Mini but it's been souped up with microswitches. It has pretty loose movement but is stupidly responsive...

I bought such a USB Competition Pro roughly 3 years ago, and experienced a similar behaviour you described here.Empa Kendo wrote:Today this joystick arrived: [...] The joystick takes getting use to though - higher inertia but more precision than the cheaper 80ies sticks - Atari400/Commodore.
It was extremely more stiff to push into any direction compared to what I remembered from former times, and sometimes it even got stuck. When I pulled at the stick - with *much* *less* force than I had exerted while moving it left/right, or up/down - something cracked inside, and the stick peeked out 1 centimeter more, now being completely defunct.
I didn't even have the patience to look inside, and the joystick went into the bin immediately.
I just got one just like it, but transparent and including 99 c64-games:
