Oooooh! ... I might grab them DVD's. May well save a job, and I can extract all the Vic 20 pages a lot quicker.

Doing some enquiries, but i'll keep posting scans in the meantime.

Right, there was only one more Vic listing in the folder of mags (Though I have others somewhere in another folder):

Next game is:

Squashed Frog - http://gtw64.retro-net.de/vicscans/squashedfrog.rar
(Can you guess what type of game it is? ;) )

I'm going to check my old emails at some point, as the late C64 graphic artist Martin Holland once emailed me some scans of a game he did called "Egg Catcher", which I *think* was printed in CVG.

I typed in Fast And Furious and made a d64:

It's not exactly fast or furious, unfortunately :D

Heh, thats bad :) .... Hopefully the others will be better, but another one to cross off the list. Thanks Kweepa!

Btw, I ordered the HCW magazines from the site and once I have them i'll filter and grab the Vic 20 pages and pop here.

I'll probably create a big archive somewhere for people to grab.

Right, I dug through my very old emails and found the scans from the late Martin Holland (Popular graphic artist on the C64 who sadly passed away in 2003)

The scans are sadly in GIF format, and one of the set is a little on the small side. Might need tracking down in full from the relevant magazines:

http://gtw64.retro-net.de/vicscans/mholland.zip (Kubert and Egg Eater)

Both games are by Martin.

Next will be all the HCW Vic 20 game scans. I'm also looking for any articles which mention Vic 20 games not in GB20.

If no one has started it, I'll do Egg.

Ok, I've got most of Egg Eater done. I am having trouble reading some of the lines though. Lines 1110-1160 in the second program are most troublesome. If anyone can give assistance it would be most appreciated.

I love type-in listings.
Typing in our own programs was such a big part of our earlier computing lives.

Hmmm... Sadly I haven't got any better scans, so we may need to source the magazine which it came from. Martin originally said CVG, but it doesn't look like a CVG listing.

Anyone have any suggestions to what magazine it might have been printed in?.... I could try and have a sift through a load of 1984 issues on World Of Spectrum.

Looks like it came from Big-K.

http://amigan.1emu.net/aw/bigk.txt

I couldn't find that issue, but I found a couple of others.

Whoops...I guess I found where the scan came from...can't read it here either.

I've got all 12 issues of Big K... but they're still at my folks' place. I'm heading over there later today so I'll grab all of them and bring them back with me so I can see if my printings are better

At least I can add entries for all of the ones from that magazine now if anything given the handy list link above...

Guess it was printed badly in all the copies... mine is just as hard to see. Still, I've made a HUGE res scan of the lines in question so you can have a very good look, fiddle and try to see which control codes they are!

I have finished typing this in (thanks kweepa) ,and am in the process of debugging. I noticed that even though the article is called Egg Eater, the name that Mr. Holland used in the game is Cavern Run. Could someone check to see if maybe this one has already been archived under that name. Other than that it looks pretty cool and I'll have it downloaded to my site in a few days.

There's a Cavern Run in GB20, but it's definitely not the same game...
