Gamebase20 version 2!

Post by Mayhem »

Oh, that got your hopes up now, didn't it?!

Firstly I should say that phase one is now complete. Phase two is now in operation, whereby I get people to assist and fix things I can't get working currently. Phase three in due time will be asking people submit information and games I don't have currently, but please wait, I will announce when that is now active!

I'll use this first post to list things I require help with, and then edit them when they have been overcome. If I require something sending to me, please send to mayhemers@hotmail.com email.

So just one to begin with, but I'll gradually put other things up...

TO DO

- getting it out so people can download

FIXED

- everything (I hope!)

Got the TAP, thanks for that. But it's doing exactly the same thing! This is very, very bizarre... and I've got Gamebase frontend installed on two different PCs and they both react in the same way. Maybe I'll have to see about a different version of Vice and whether that causes anything.

In the meantime, would it be possible to rip the PRG from the TAP for me Eslapion?

If you want, give me the TAP/link, i will try, i must check if is a protected tape before.

Does the frontend display the command before to launch the TAP file? which is ?
If you want i may try to launch it with my personal general frontend "M.E. - Multi Emulator frontend" made on 2000 but never published (I don't know why) that i use to launch all items of any emulator, Vice too of course.

PM me your email address and I'll pass the TAP along...

Normally in Vice it will show "tape attached" down the bottom and then kick off a Shift Run/Stop action, but in this case it's trying to attach it to device #8 and doing a LOAD"*",8,1 for whatever reason...!

AFAIK, this game and most games in the games 20 collection are copy protected by putting ML code hidden in the filename (jump to cassette buffer).

Hi Mayhem,

I've sent you via email the cleaned tap file that works fine with VICE.

Good work with your GB20, when you need, i'm on tap ;-)

And the new TAP works fine in Gamebase. Most strange... but it works, who cares why ;)

Don't worry, plenty more games not functioning properly to come...!

Next stop... anyone got an inside inlay scan of Cassette 50 by Cascade for the Vic20 or just a list of the games? I need to confirm a few game names and all I have are the first three letters.

I've got a few titles that need converting to d64 from the compilation, but I'll send that to someone shortly to fix...

I remember that Arma's had the list but now is off-line again, very hard time for the Vic community...

Cheers for that, I had two of the names correct, just needed to adjust one other slightly.
