What is a fair price for a cleaning working 1701 or 1702 Monitor..?

Post by Judge Drokk »

What is a fair price for a cleaning working 1701 or 1702 Monitor..?

I have a 1084s running a VIC-20 but i'm thinking of getting a 1701 or 1702 monitor during the summer months...maybe.

I don't know really what is a fair price to pay for a nice clean unit, with minimum dis-colouration, front flap INTACT.
Minimum scratches, no whine noises. Working speakers, good picture with to crazy shit going on.

Aprox price In £, $ or Euros would be very helpful!

Also anything to watch out for and to avoid..... ThanX GuyZ

They don't come up very often so there isn't really a "going rate".

I bagged one in reasonable condition about 8 years ago for £35, but if I was in the market now, I think I would pay up to about £80.

One here to watch...

Hmm around £80 does not seem unreasonable. That one on ebay (link) seems fair/good condition.
I dont think i would go for a lower condition than that.

I'm quite sensitive to "use goods" having "battle scars".

Picture wise is there much difference between a 1084 and a 1701/2 screen?

Looks like it sold for £80.99, so not a bad price prediction.

Yes a good price prediction.......... i was thinking about dropping a bid but something was putting me off.....

I have 5 C64s and 2 VICs from EBAY and put as much thought into who i might be buying the product from and i do in the product itself

and something was just putting me off this monitor.

Why did they take photos of it in the garden? . .

Why no photos of the monitor working? ........ I asked for some and i got one back that was the size of an "icon" (very small, and very dark) it was probably just stolen off the net.

The seller didnt look like someone who had looked after it or kept it in a "nice location".

I wont go into much detail there..!

Somehting just told me to "skip it and wait for a better one".

There is a better example on ebay but thew wont ship it. Collection only........... and it would be a 10 hour round trip. Way too much hassle.

It looks nicer than the other one that just sold and is £30 LESS!!

Hmmmmmm.

If anyone hears of a nice one for sale...... drop me a message............ im still looking for the right one.

ThanX
