Lookking for control/joystick port and pwr switch parts.

Post by liqmat »

Have two older "two power prong" VIC models that need better power switches and one that needs a replacement control/joystick port. Looking for either a dead motherboard or the parts already desoldered. Have various VIC ICs and a CR model case top and bottom if you want to trade or I could just buy off of you via PayPal once we trade photos. PM me if you are interested. Thanks.

I see Commodore 64 parts, but no VIC-20 parts on that site. I did shoot off an email to them and see if they do have any though. Thanks for the info as I restore many different console and computer systems.

Yeah. As I suspected the C64 and cost reduced newer model VIC-20 share the same style control/game port, but the original VIC-20 model with the bronze case badge and internal black heat sinks has its own style control/game port with different configured screw mounts. I will probably just end up waiting until I find a dead older model VIC-20 to part out from.

I am not talking about on the side. If you actually open the lid you will see the mounting screw placements are not the same on the motherboard. As a matter of fact the cost reduced VIC-20 model and the Commodore 64 have the same mounting screw spacing on their motherboards. The early model VICs are kind of on their own as far as the control port is concerned.
