Good spots to find VICs?

Post by metalfoot76 »

Other than eBay, is there any good spot to look for a VIC? I have loved Commodore 8-bits since the 80s, and only had a 64 growing up. Now have a 128 too, and would love to become a VIC owner as well.

eBay is about as good as it gets, but if you take your time you can get a decent bargain.

The range of prices for VIC-20s is vast and very inconsistent. One day, you could get a mint one for £20 and on another you could pay £60 for one that's a complete eyesore and barely works.

Where in Manitoba are you from? I grew up in Dauphin.

I'm from SW Ontario originally, but currently in the Morden/Winkler area. Haven't been up to Dauphin, but I hear it's a pretty part of the province. Since you're in TO, do you have any contact with JPPBM? I emailed him a while back to inquire about buying a monitor, but haven't heard anything.

Ha! I actually live about 5 blocks from him. He's famous for not answering his email.

Fun fact, there's a VIC on display in the Dauphin museum. There's a thread on Denial about it, but you should go see it in person  I had nothing to do with it, either, just a neat thing to find.
