New Programmer on the rise..Smiles

Post by SmokinGirl2 »

Hello,
This is SmokinGirl I am new to programming. I had a little info when i was young and programmed on a Vic I was 14yrs old at the time...
I am 43yrs old now and figured I would get back into my Vic 20 dayz so I Downloaded Vic 20 emulator and am Doing Well.
I am currently studying Getting to know your Vic 20. So I am starting with basic. Later I plan on learning some Assembly/Machine Code.
I noticed my WinVice emulator has internet connections so I plan on trying to make a Netable Programsoon that uses rs232 connections.
So how are you doing.
Hugs
SmokinGirl...
P.S. what is a good ebook to read about how to program with the modem rs232 port?
Possible a bbs can be programmed in the future??? hummmm we will see.

Hi,

I'm Toni and I'm 42 years old, when I was young ( about 13 years old ) I also played with my VIC-20, also I'd have a really good friend and we both trying to write a few games on the Vic-20, when we where really young.
So, during the time I played sometimes with my VIC-20 an the real machine and on the VICE.

So after 4 weeks from now, we had here in Bavaria a real big train disaster, where my good old friend died, I was only a little hurt.
So I decided to finish our last game, when we where young. So someone would remember my friend, when he plays that game.

But you know the time, when you've get older, you forget a lot of stuff, so right now, I must relearn all the machine-code and a few basic tricks. But
it's really funny at all expected that disaster.
Also I've bought a few VIC-20 books from e-bay and start learning, also the real friendly community here has a lot of knowledge, so when you have
a few questions, here you find help.

So enjoy your time here and have fun at all.

cheerio Toni

PS: Sorry for my english, but I'm from German
.....42, what else ???

Welcome!

I got my Vic-20 in 1983 and actually made a couple of games (my parents never bought me any game, so I had to make them myself). I was 11 at the time.
