Axel F from Beverly Hills Cop on VIC-20?

Post by Gorf »

I saw this and thought it would be cool to do that on the VIC-20. Is that possible to do on one or more VIC-20s? :D

That would be a request for David Viens aka V1and3.

First of all, here's the direct link to that Axel F. clip on Youtube. ;)

That being said, the execution of this piece doesn't seem to be too hard on the SID registers. It should transfer well using SID Vicious on 2 VIC-20's (see here and here). The only 'hard' thing would be to adapt the SID Converter for the addresses of the 2nd SID (Kananga?).

Thanks for the link! :)

So, am I correct that the first link that you gave is a SID emulator and the second a converter? Also can you please tell me what you mean when you say that the only 'hard' thing would be to adapt the SID Converter for the addresses for the 2nd SID? (I am not that advanced in terms of memory and the stuff like that) :)

EDIT: i just looked at the first link and none of the files are still up for download, do you have another source? Thanks for looking for things that might help me. :)

I am sorry, but can you give me more information? I do not know many people by name and I am fairly new to the community, thanks for the response though. :)

You might be interested that there's a single Vic version of Axel F played in the "vic iterum" demo by Pu-239 . Download demodisk1.d64 from zimmers , it's on there.

Thanks for the clarification! :)
I will keep that in mind and I hope to be able to create on in the future. :)

Thanks for the info, I will be sure to try that out. :)

Thanks everybody for their helpful suggestions and I am very excited about this (do not know if it will materialize into anything big (such as a special screen animation), or just the sound). I am glad to have my first question on the forum answered with such speed. :)
