Forth anyone?

Post by srowe »

Is anyone else into Forth? I dabbled with it when I first had my VIC and now I've started to experiment with it again.

I've build the standard 6502 FIG-Forth and plan to adapt and extend it.

Did you read the latest articles on filfre.net?
I've always been curious about Forth, but never curious enough to try to implement anything.

Thanks for the link, it's a useful and balanced summary for Forth. It appeals to me because it's close to assembler but allows a high degree of extension that you'd get with a high level language.

One of things that held it back were the screen based editing, compared to CBM Basic it was a rather awkward environment. When I get around to it I'll make my implementation more embedded. I'll edit and 'compile' on the PC and just load a pre-built dictionary into the VIC.
