sound effects

Post by vic user »

i was hoping people could share some of their most used sound routines

one that i like to use for the launch of a rocket, is by expanding on the explosion sound routine, found at the back of the vic guide.

i just start by going backwards with the explosion and then ending with the actual explosion routine. sounds pretty much like a big ass rocket taking off near you and then moving off into the sky.

One trick I like to use is run two sound channels at as close to the same frequency as possible without actually being on the same frequency. This gives a phased wom wom wom wom sound like you would get from running multiple engines. When the craft speed up lower the pitch of the lower of the two notes to speed up the wom wom effect.

This works for any multi channel sound chip such as VIC, SID, AY3-8910, AY3-8912 etc...
