You said "if", I do not. Pretty much the same is not the same. SDL rendering, window, and full screen management is altogether different. Even VICE ini variables distinguishes between the two, which is most annoying. How about some convergence there to make your point matter?

I'll check again. I probably got the version number wrong....anyway, it's probably whatever is the latest official stable VICE for Linux.groepaz wrote:interesting, is that an official repo? must be the first distro that has packages of intermediate versions...ral-clan wrote:This is Lubuntu 14.04. I'm using VICE 2.4.6 downloaded through Lubuntu's Software Centre.

Hey, big difference between them. 2.4.6 is a major uplift over 2.4.0.

Re: Getting
no, it isnt. with no hardware acceleration both would use your OSs software blitting, with acceleration both would use GL. the only difference would be some gluecode, which is really negligible. certainly it makes no differences regarding performance (except you are running it without x11 - but thats a completely different thing)Pretty much the same is not the same. SDL rendering, window, and full screen management is altogether different.
that would be 2.4 then - hence i am wonderingit's probably whatever is the latest official stable VICE for Linux.
I'm just a Software Guy who has no Idea how the Hardware works. Don't listen to me.
