How to emulate a green monitor in VICE?

You need an actual VIC.

How to emulate a green monitor in VICE?

Post by orion70 »

Hi all. My home VIC setup has a black and green monitor (hence my inclination towards monochrome graphics, text adventures, and old PET games  ).
It would be nice if I could change the XVIC settings and emulate the green shades of my monitor, to do a quick test of programs on the PC and possibly change the pokes before using them on the real machine :).
I tried with Settings -> Video Settings -> Colors -> (set Saturation to 0), but of course it gives a black and white screen.. Maybe I should edit the vpl (VIC palette) file, but how? Anyone already tried this?

Saehn was very helpful there :)
Obviously you'd need to tweak the colours a bit for the VIC...

Thank you very much, it's what I was looking for. Will play with it for a while and post a vpl for VIC computers with green monitors ASAP :) .
