I got a couple of ideas for some new VIC 20 programs, and some enhancements of existing ones. But I would rather not start new thread(s) nor keep necromancing old ones with the occasional tweaks. Instead, I like the idea behind Jeff's collection -- although I will never write that many programs for VIC. And, I'd like the collection to provide different things to different folks interested in VIC 20: retrogamer, programmer, and newbie alike.
So my collection will be an all-inclusive ZIP file (source code, emulator-friendly scripts/files, and a 1541 disk image for real VIC 20 usage) that should allow the newbie and experienced user to dissect my collection however they choose. When I am finished with my VIC 20 retro-programming efforts (before the end of this year), I'll make that final post here. I have plans starting next year to do some C128 game programming.
But if I fail to do anything else new, you can download my collection from here. Enjoy.

Hi Robert, nice collection but it lacks just one "wish" game
PS: May I use your collection to experiment MESS's NTSC emulation ?
do you have experience on it ? which is the NTSC Emulation level of MESS ?

It's free to use how you like ... I have not been displeased with M.E.S.S. direction and development over the past two years. It does enforce the use of a Commodore 1540 floppy drive, hmmm -- I do not know if that prohibits your testing any, but their objectives are to document real hardware in emulation, so I gotta believe it's accurate.
I have found M.E.S.S. NTSC display timing to be more accurate than VICE. So, go for it! I think we all would like to hear a report on your progress.
To answer your question, just use the NTSC (vic20) roms supplied. There are vic20p roms if you want to try out your PAL timing first to see how accurate that is. Just append the "p", i.e., mess vic20p instead of mess vic20 -- which I screwed up in the earlier archive by supplying the older named vic20pal archive (sorry, you will need to fetch that ROM or download my updated archive).
