You need an actual VIC.

I wonder how many keypresses it takes before they start to wear out, I'm guessing they're not covered with plastic, just a of paint on the paper/plastic sheet...

It would be nice to have a second (or third) keyboard to the computer with these stickers. A poor man's version of Keyrah...

I have a IR receiver for an extra keyboard that I use when using it with the TV - and I have a couple of extra keyboards - that might be a nice solution.

If you're writing in assembler however, it's perhaps easier on a PC, being able to check things on the internet, copy and paste stuff easily and so on...
I guess it would be nice if I could copy and paste frequently used routines. I would love to be able to "merge" programs. I remember reading about a program that could do that in COMPUTE. I'll have to look it up.

There was also a solution for merging basic programs in the german 64er magazine. So that one is easy. I'll look it up, when I'm home.

There's a MERGE command in TFC3 for example, very handy. Perhaps if you need to merge a VIC BASIC program you could transfer it and use a TFC3 emulated in VICE? After a merge you just use the command RENUM to renumber the whole program into a seamless listing. But I guess it would require to load into $0801 and save to $1001 though - that could be done from the monitor.

Aren't there any such cartridges for VIC?

I just found the following in Programmer's Aid Manual (VC-1212):
2.4.16 MERGE
FORMAT : MERGE “(Program name)

So I guess you just need to use "Programmer's Aid" then. ;-)
