I got logged out and lost my pictures (and almost my post, I have a habit of copying what I typed).

Thanks!

The 6530 is a RRIOT (ROM-RAM-I/O-Timer). The ROM will be loaded with code which probably won't be of use but the device also provides 64 bytes of RAM and two 8 bit ports. They're intended for use in embedded systems where memory requirements are low and I/O lines are needed. The IEEE-488 disk drives like the 4040 use them.

What is the part number printed on them?

Is there not six digit part number like those listed on http://blog.tynemouthsoftware.co.uk/2015/10/mos-6530-replacements.html?

Here is a picture of one of them before I de-socketed them. I originally got the board because of them 6502 and various components.

Interesting, I wonder what's in the ROM. Any clues on the circuit board to indicate what they were used for?

I will take a picture when I get home, but I have no clue what the board was used for. All I know is that I bought it for 11$ and the edge connector was cut because the owner wanted to salvage the gold on it.
I always buy these for the components anyway.

Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess.

I snipped a picture, as i said I have no knowledge of this.
FYI: the HD26501 was next to the 6502

Found this web-page if you're still interested.

Apparently (maybe) the R6530-005 is a variant of the 6530, only difference is the masked ROM is empty. (maybe)

Never mind I confirm that the site says true, see the first page.
