IMO, you are going about it the hard way. I have aligned all my drives in a similar manner to the video I posted above with a factory disk and they all are aligned fine afterwards. The way to do a definitive test after the procedure is to use a fastload cart and look for any errors.

Oh, I guess I was assuming you had a C64 and a SDIEC.. :)

I do have a C64, but no SD2IEC.
You see it came down to buying an oscilloscope or an SD2IEC. Well one is more useful, I'll let you decide. Just a matter of priorities. :wink:
