This is not much of a sign of anything.

Well you can see from the pics the chips are pulled, and there are 2 x AA batteries = 3 volt. The point of the exercise was to prove that adding copper foil and solder was sufficient to replace damaged traces before painting over with (nail) varnish. This was proven, and the restoration can continue. Job done.

The RAM chips and the 74LS series logic chips are still on the board...

IMHO, you should go to a hardware store and get yourself an inexpensive digital multimeter.

Also, nail varnish is really designed to be worn a few weeks at the most. It's going to dry out and crack pretty quickly.
Be normal.
