Wi-Fi Cartridge for the Commodore 64 (and VIC 20 too!)
Some of you may have read the thread on Lemon. I've put together a Wi-Fi Cartridge (User Port) for Commodore computers!

Of course, it should work just fine on a VIC as well, in theory. It runs at 2400 baud though, and I can't make it go any lower than that. Were there ever any terminal programs for the VIC that could do 2400?
You can also reconfigure it to use it as an I/O device to read analog inputs, use PWM output, etc. etc. through the onboard Arduino.
Definitely thinking of making a few to sell - won't be cheap, though, around $200.

i havent ever used any of them, but i dont see why that wouldnt work... if c64 can do it, vic20 can do it tooWere there ever any terminal programs for the VIC that could do 2400?
I'm just a Software Guy who has no Idea how the Hardware works. Don't listen to me.

This is a cool device, hope to see it really running on a Vic soon
Kind regards, Peter.

Update: Looks like I'll need to support 1200 baud after all, for Q-Link Reloaded on the C64...so this opens up possibilities of using it with a VIC as well! Will try it "soon" and report back.

Never mind! Turns out there are several terminal programs for the VIC that support 2400 baud!

Plus Term and Mighty Term both work fine.
There's also VT-40 on the MegaCart, but it only does PETSCII, so none of the commands actually work.
Tested with my Wi-Fi modem, works fine!

Looking great too bad this beautiful device of yours is fairly costly.
Kind regards, Peter.

Yes, looks very nice, but much too expensive for me to consider buying one.
The maximum I would want to pay for this would be about $50 considering that you can get a cheap Chinese ethernet adapter that works for about $15 including serial connector etc (admittedly needing the remote IP address to be pre-configured using a PC [currently]).

Well there is this also that I discovered ... https://www.cbmstuff.com/proddetail.php?prod=WiModem
It is a similar product but a little cheaper.
I am thinking to go online with my VIC!

Look like it's built around the legendary ESP8266
Price is much more realistic. I have already bought all the parts to make one (around£ $15) - but never got around to it. This will probably go on my Christmas list.
