Hi everyone.
I just had a chance to test out a VIC-20 I received in the mail that is in great shape. However, when I plug it into a CRT TV I have using the RF modulator that came with it, I have some issues. At first, the picture is snowy. Then the picture comes in clear, but the border is red, the background is black, and the text is yellow. Also, there's a persistent sound coming from the TV's speakers when the VIC is on. The TV works just fine with the other game systems I have. I tried plugging the VIC into another TV using a DIN to RCA cable and the color and sound work fine. Is my RF modulator busted? I'd hope to use it with the TV I tested it on but...

Judging by what you described - I believe you already found your answer
Maybe just maybe check to see if there's a bad wire in the cable itself.

That's what I figured . No problem though. I just wanted to make sure. I'll just hook her up with the RCA cables to the other TV for now.
Thanks .
