Studio Monitors
I've been thinking about getting some professional CRT broadcast monitors for my consoles. My theory is that they'll have more scan lines and less "cropping" of the image. Has anyone ever used them?
I have Sony monitor. Connectors are very nice. There is 4x BNC video in with audio, witch I use RCA with adapters, Svideo+audio and scart.

Should I use the term "broadcast monitor"?Boray wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studio_monitor
Did I say something stupid? I don't know much about this topic.Mikam73 wrote:more scan lines and less "cropping" of the image.
I'm not sure what to call them, but studio monitors means reference speakers to all music recording people...Jeff-20 wrote:Should I use the term "broadcast monitor"?Boray wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studio_monitor

I'm not sure what to call them, but I thought CRT would explain that I'm talking about video monitors.
I had a chance to hook my Vic to a professional Sony Trinitron CRT monitor today. It didn't look very good at all. Lots of little ghosting. Maybe this monitor was especially old. I think some images look better on smaller screens, but the blur was really unattractive.
I like the idea that these pro monitors can show PAL and SECAM, etc. I may consider getting one if I ever start to collect PAL consoles. I also like that they can be stacked. But my old Sony Wega CRT is going to have to last a little longer.

There's a potentiometer inside each VIC that you may need to tweak to adjust the picture. I find the setting has to be very different between a monitor and TV.Jeff-20 wrote:I had a chance to hook my Vic to a professional Sony Trinitron CRT monitor today. It didn't look very good at all.
