Order placed. :)

beamrider wrote:Ok, was just about to order, but £35 becomes £41+ with shipping. Is there no cheaper price for UK?
I presume the 'Signed For' UK delivery costs £3.95. I had to choose one of the delivery methods (both of which cost extra) before I could place my order.

So looking forward to playing this. Thanks Misfit.

The PCB of the cart seems different from the initial photos. It looks like the technical issue is now resolved.
Be normal.

A package with the early Christmas-gift to myself arrived today:

I'll have both fun playing and cracking it using my XPANDER-3 and SD2IEC.
Of course my cracked copy will stay private :D

I probably won't be playing it before Christmas though.

Managed only a short debut session tonight. Well ... we all know that it looks fantastic but now I am happy to report that It plays brilliantly too :D

Easy Peasy ( I got 694 p) is a pleasant introduction (but still large enough that I momentarily got lost). The real game, however, begins with Speed Runner and Adventure mode. Great level design and mechanics that make it more modern than "merely" a scrolling Jet Set Willy clone. And, my how good the red and orange Sunny Land area looks!

A very special Vic game, no doubt.

The purple and blue level  It looks even better than the orange and red one - stunning! Like a multicolor Atari 800 game ... but with superior scrolling!

Looks aside, the game impresses on all fronts. It should really receive a 95+ rating in Retro Gamer. Anything else would simply be unfair. This really brings Vic-20 gaming to a new level – there are so many neat touches: Conveyor belts, flashing platforms, disintegrating platform, ice platforms that break in parts when you jump from great heights, bullets, Wall jumping :D, Blocks to push :D, enemies that react and attack you, warps to hidden areas etc.

The levels are massive and well-designed and the controls are refined. Jumping works great with the fire button; down allows you descend "ladder platforms" and to look/scroll down; up makes you look/scroll up. The camera control/movement, the "physics", and controls all feel significantly more polished and sophisticated than the vast majority of C64 platform games. Really feels more like a professional modern indie game 8)

Nothing less than a massive accomplishment by Misfit!

Looking at the screenshots it doesn't look too sophisticated. The description says: "There is only one control: Thurst" (I suppose they meant "thrust").

From what I can see this does not look like something I'd pay 22.99 GBP for. I know I may be wrong and the game might play fantastic. A YouTube-video might help.

Misfit's games I can buy without playtesting as each of his efforts is more astonishing than the last!

Spaceship Minus One looks like a flappy bird clone...
Not sure it needs a physical release (no offence to the author!).
