This also put me off too. I fancied the tape as a collectible but the postage is outrageous.

It's the cheapest eBay/USPS allows, unfortunately. And I don't add anything for handling. I am happy, however, to combine shipment with other items, if you're into my other items.

I will back K3ys up here, as I regularly have things sent to me from the US, and the way the mailing system is now loaded, means you tend to pay a lot more for a higher flat rate of weight limit. So you are pretty much paying the same for any package up to 2 pounds, and then the same (but slightly higher amount) for anything between 2-4 pounds. Makes shipping small/light items very expensive in general compared to before.

It's been hurting other home businesses too when dealing with foreign customers, as I know the guy behind Packrat Videogames has had similar complaints due to the cost to ship one game outside the US (which he worked out is exactly the same if he ships FOUR to the same location!).

Boy, Vicross is addicting :) Never played those Picross-games before. I need to look for the GameBoy and DS-versions now.

Just wondering how many levels there are each:
50 levels of varying difficulty!
5x5, 10x10 and 15x15 puzzle sizes.
I just reached the 15x15 puzzle sizes.

20 each of the 5x5 and 10x10 levels, then 10 of the 15x15. Mostly due to packing all the bits in, but it also balances out since the 15x15 levels take longer to solve. It wasn't easy fitting all that into ~4K ;)

For those of you getting digital downloads only, here's a copy of the instructions from the inside of the cassette J-card.

I had the good fortune to be situated next to the author of these at 2016 ECCC convention in Chicago, and got to playtest both 2048 and VICROSS. I'm glad to see they've finally been released!

Is there anything 'official' regarding the price of the digital-only option?
PM me if it has to be kept secret :-)

People have been paying the $9.99, and I'm fine with that, of course. You are getting two games for that price, which I think is fair, and are also saving on the sometimes expensive shipping costs.

The cost of developing the game outweighs the cost of the physical product anyways.

No problem. :) I hope you enjoy it.

Anyone else wanting to get a digital copy for $9.99, just PM me for details.

Cheers!

For some reason, this version of 2048 feels more difficult than the web version I played before. Finally, success!

Yup, just this morning after grinding through the last 10 levels over 3 days. Great game! Can hardly believe it all fits into the unexpanded VIC.

Managed to finish this at last. :)

If you like this sort of puzzle, search for 'nonograms' on the web. There are a few online gameplay sites worth a visit. I even have a couple of apps on my phone so I can play on the go.

I really suck at 2048 though. :(
