$B

Post by Vic Porter »

Minimalist port of the game 2048 for unexpanded VIC-20.
Original game by Gabriele Cirulli.

WASD to move, R to restart.

Source is included.

Back to a more substantial project...

I've just given a try to the linked Java (?) game... That's a nice little game indeed! Simple but very clever. :)

Clever and cryptic. It took me a while to figure out the the original game. Just imagine if I had gone straight to your VIC port instead

Nice game.

Reminds me of a similar minimalist game that could probably work easily on an unexpanded VIC, similar to Tetris called "Shades"
Although that game requires shaded blocks, the VIC still has numbers.

2048 is one of my favorite mobile games, so this is a welcome VIC addition for me. :)

One thing though, the numbers don't seem to add up correctly here. At least, they don't add up the way they do in every other version of 2048 I've every played. For example, if I join 2+2, this game gives me '3' (should be '4'). If I join 4+4, it gives me '5' (should be '8').

Is this on purpose, or a bug? :)

It is intentional. $B is the base 2 logarithm of 2048. ;)
