What!? No, sorry. August. :)

No, sorry. As I just wrote in the earlier postings…
I meant buying a physical cassette will also allow us the TAP/WAV/PRG files too as a download (and any updates/fixes down the line) ?

Oh dear. How could I possibly rephrase this in a fathomable fashion? Hmm... well, last time I visited my mistress and tried to make "digital download" the save word she didn't care. Almost liked that at first but then she sent that invoice, too.

Nice surprise for xmas would be in for tape buyers.

Am overcommitted at the moment and cannot even think about doing another game.

I understand. I'm just suggesting a name if you ever decide on making a sequel in the next few months or years.

Arukanoido is a really great choice.

:) Was just watching a video of the arcade version. Too overloaded with sprites I'd say.

Hmm, while I understand the need to make some money off the game, and I will certainly buy a copy, the first thing I would do then is to crack it somehow so I can play in VICE or from my SD2IEC. I'm really not a fan of tape and was happy when I could finally transfer all my files from tape to disk and never looked back. Some people may like it for nostalgia and that's totally fine, but if I just want to play the game, I'd much rather load from SD-card nowadays.

Furthermore as you say paddles are recommended, but only few people actually have these and the ones that do will confirm that nowadays most VIC-20s suffer from bad paddle-jitter. It has been confirmed that this has nothing to do with the paddles themselves, but something inside the VIC-20. Replacing some capacitors has been a suggested solution, but from what I read the one person that actually tried this has seen no improvement. If the jitter-problem resides with degrading 6560/6561-chips itself there is basically no remedy available for the problem right now.

So, all in all, please reconsider selling a digital version of the game so we can all enjoy it on the device of our choice.

I think selling the game probably would be a copyright issue as it's so close to the original. There is no way to patent a game idea, but the graphics, patterns/tracks and music is most likely the property of Taito.

I hadn't read that one.

Tapes become unreadable fairly quickly because of head magnetization, especially when a fast loader is involved. I would buy it if you make it available on a floppy disk or cartridge.

All the C64 games I had in the past which were purchased on cassettes became unreadable after playing more than 10 times. Since they were all fairly large, they all used custom accelerated loaders.

Will definitely buy a tape :D Almost all of my old Vic and C64 tapes still work fine. I Don't care that much for digital download, but it's a nice bonus of course!
