First playlist containing 280 Vic 20 games

Second playlist containing 256 Vic 20 games (so far) (new games added daily)
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... kU1uG05wj6

I think it's highly enjoyable to just lean back and watch Vic 20 game after Vic 20 game in action. I download most of them and fixes a playlist on my own containing my favourite games. Several of your games is there too.

I think this is a good way for anybody to see what Vic 20 gaming is about and found many new great games on my own that i wasn't aware of.

Don't forget this page containing some history about Vic 20.

I like Jeff's games because he has something that most adults sadly miss, imagination.

To tell you the truth. Novadays i watch games more then i play them.

Longplays or gameplays has some advantages over booting up your emulator.

* All games is there for you to watch

* Watch a certain level in a game, anywhere, anytime because a longplay means that you have instant access to the whole game. Go anywhere you like without having to play for 30 min.

* You see much more of the game when you don't have to focus on to play it
* Hard games is not even a problem, just watch it to the end
* Gameplay videos works as a manual too, watch how this game should be played

* Watch gamers using insane skill to amuse you

Many of the combo videos från X-Men Children of the Atom, Streetfighter Alpha or similar are just insane where the most skilled players shows you how to perform a 140 hit combo or more.

Games has never been about just playing a game, games has from the beginning been something that people watch as well. Perhaps that's why longplays, gameplays, comparisons, speed runs, combo exibitions and video reviews is so common on internet.

Put on a play list, 200 games or more, let your computer run Vic 20 games in the background for hours to create a certain atmosphere in the room. ;) :)

Thank you very much Vic 2000 for these videos! I've always been a game voyeur too, ever since as a kid I was staring at skilled players at the local arcade. Now the tube gives me a solitary pleasure, losing time in a passive, yet hypnotic, experience (no guys, not the one you're thinking of :P).

Personally i really enjoy to watch videogames and places like YT gives us the chance to watch everything that we never even knew about. I love the "Let's Compare" series for exemple where the same games is played on lots of different computers and consoles.

Check the playlists for all "Let's compare" clips.

Some clips focus on to show funny bugs and glitches in games. I even watched a "combo clip" of the old classic Bruce Lee game for C64 and Atari 8bit. :D

Besides that i think that gameplay videos is an excellent way to keep all the old games alive. To watch a game being played works in many cases as a sort of appetizer and you think, - Hmmm, that game seems to be real fun, i must boot up my emulator and try it myself. ;)

For outstanding quality, try this site

There is a site out there for all speed freaks too. ;)
http://speeddemosarchive.com/

Just choose your system from a long list, then watch a master gamer in action trying to beat a game as fast as possible.

TOM GRINER INTERVIEW

One of the best programmers for Vic 20

(from the interview)
Have you played any of your games using the currently popular emulators? What do you think of them today?
Yes, I have played most of my old games on the emulators. I think the emulators are way cool, and I love being able to rekindle the memories when I fire up those old relics on my laptop computer. Now that I have forgotten many of the details of those old games, it is in some ways more fun than ever. I get tripped up by the secret things that I once knew from writing the game.
That's how i feel too when playing Vic 20 today. ;)

Forgive me if this seems like vanity, but I was thrilled to find a longplay video of one of my old games!

Ghost: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CrlDLEb6Kg

Wins the game without losing a single life! I find the game hard now and would have made very different choices if I programmed it today. It was fun to watch the whole gaming experience all the way through and see the player's choices.
