After completing 2 fairly large projects this year, I had an interesting idea about a simple compressor. I knew that the descriptions for Tau Ceti's text adventures averaged 4K, but with a compressor, could I fit a text adventure into an unexpanded Vic? So I worked on it, and made a fairly sparse adventure to start. When I ended up with space left over I thought I can do this and created another 3 adventures. So Cygnis, like Tau Ceti and Betelgeuse is a series of adventures on a cassette, but this time with no expansion. Available here: http://www.rufnoiz.com/Net%20Cat/a91.html
I almost forgot, this is my first attempt with an assembler. I created all 10 programs (loaders, pictures, and games) in A Jordisons CBM Program Studio.

Seems there's more to do on the desert planet, but I really only needed to find and use one item. Also in the second adventure if you die from sickness, when you restart you are still "very sick" and die from the next move. Unless this was the bug you fixed, I only just now saw this version.
Re: Cygnis - unexpanded text adventure
I hate to throw a spanner in the works, but I found a fundamental error.
Namely, the constellation is "Cygnus" (or swan), not "Cygnis". It is masculine 2nd declension.
In the genitive it is Cygni.
Cygnis would be plural dative or ablative.
It might be too late to change it. Perhaps the story behind it can be that it was discovered by a team of people who failed Latin in high school.

There are only three kinds of people in the world: those who can count and those who can't.

Hey Pitcalco, this is splitting hairs
Couldn't it be that Cygnis is plural ablative indeed, in the sense of status in loco, i.e. "[the text Adventure set] in the [stars of the constellation of] Cygnus"? The stars are plural, the place is expressed with ablative, so that's it - sort of "in the Swans"

Fair enough, Orion.
Cygnis it is.

Re: Cygnis - unexpanded text adventure
As with all the text adventures you have been sent to a system around a star. I thought that would leave the text adventures open to anything, from castles to jungles to pyramids to lifeless rocks. So Cygnis the game title refers specifically to the star HDE 226868, as I wanted to include the black hole Cygnus OB3. But no one would want to play a game called HDE 226868 ...
@ malcontent. No, the bug I fixed was a JMP instead of a JSR so the game at a point just ... stopped. Sounds like I forgot to initialize a variable I will fix as soon as possible. Thank you.
