Arcade Game conversions we would like to see?

Post by beamrider »

Ok, so having worked out how to do a Poll, I thought I would list the games from the "Games we would like to see" thread.

You can vote for up to 3..

I decided to stick to Aracde conversions for this poll.

I removed the following as I thought they were unlikely and besides the poll only allows up to 20 options.

Space Harrier
Le-Mans
Super Mario Bros
Spy Hunter

Also removed BoulderDash as it was originally a computer game - an Arcade version was ported later...

Telengard wasn't an arcade game either, but would be cool to see as a port.

OK, I swapped it out for R-Type which had been asked for...

There already exists a great Pengo-clone since 1986 from german 64er special issue #3 - you can download the disk image from this thread:

Yes, that is pretty decent. I was totally unaware of it.

OK, I converted Pengo to Puzzle Bobble (there was one vote for it already sorry whoever that was).

Too many great games listed. How about picking 3 that we don't want to see on the VIC instead? :D

There's a three-part machine language game called Bagdad, I think, and it would be a perfect Joust clone with just a simple graphic change.

Not counting the obvious WoW, which will be (I'm sure) the natural winner, I voted for Popeye and Bomb Jack, two of my fondest memories back from the Arcades, thirty years ago or something, and from the C64 ports.

These are all so ambitious...I think a simpler yet fun attempt at Bally/Midway's Demolition Derby would be a fast and dirty game to pull off.

Or really impress outsiders with super popular home titles from other systems. Like Super Mario Bros. or Sonic. The 2600 conversions were very well received.

A good idea, and to expand on that and get the young'uns how about popular "simple" tablet / smartphone / browser titles like Flappy Bird, Tsum-Tsum, or Robot Unicorn for a future poll?

Le Mans is one of my favourites on the C64. Poor graphics, but fun.
