Attract mode (game play watching) made by a fan:

Perhaps VIC 2000 can put his enthusiasm into creative reviews like this one? I'd love to see one made for Panicman, Pooyan, and Pulse.

Just restarting the game immediately if the player dies is also quite a good trick to nail him to the joystick.

Why not. :)

I write reviews sometimes, i'm a blogger too, and admin for some of my own forums as well.

The constructive part in these postings was to say, it's the detaljs that makes the difference and even small memory saving touches can do a lot for an already good game to make it even more polished. :)

I think that most of Jeff Minters games on Vic-20 is pretty impressive. Watching Hellgate for exemple is like watching a full fledged arcade machine in action. There's attract mode, high score screen, colour cycling and the whole package, yet most games are 8k or even less.

I only owned one game from Llamasoft back in the 80's, Metagalactic Llamas. Now 2014 i got the chance to play the orginal Andes Attack on Vic-20. Andes Attack is one of my favourite games on Atari ST.

True. This is my new favorite 8 bit quote. :)

This was an area the Apple2 always excelled in imho, that darn Disk II drive was so fast on that thing it seemed like every game I recall playing as a kid used the disk as an extra 100 some K of paged memory. Of course, I couldn't afford an Apple, which is why I loved my vic.

Ok, I spent 28 extra bytes to enhance Quikman's attract mode: toggles between menu and monster roaming. What do you think?
