Boulder Dash Vic20

Post by Mikam73 »

Would converting Boulder Dash for Vic20 be possible? There has been Boulder Dash for Atari 2600 and Intellivision version is coming this year. Vic should be more powerful than these two? Maybe cartridge with some extra memory.

Thanks Mayhem :D

I'm sure that porting original BD would be possible if you use extra memory. Boulder Dash is playable without smooth scrolling.

Just gave Boulder Dan a quick go on VICE. Runs a lot faster than I thought it would, but the single screen format limits the gameplay IMO.

This is my favourite BD game:

Sadly, the video doesn't show any of the later levels which are a lot more complex.

Should be fairly doable. If I was to do it I'd write a PC based level editor and make it a multiload game.
