NEW GAME RELEASE - Avalanche (2012) by Revival Studios

Post by revivalstudios »

Hi all,

I'm proud to announce that i have finished my first game for the unexpanded VIC 20, called Avalanche

Image Image

Avalanche is a fun action game people can just pickup and play. The player has to shoot the various gems that are falling down from the top of the screen. The gems are marked with symbols and the player has to match up the symbol of his ship with the symbol on the gems.

The speed of the game will automatically increase during gameplay. Shoot strategically and get combos of 4 similar gems in a row to decrease speed and gain extra points.

Here is the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnGaxCwaeuU

The game is currently available on cassette tape and as digital download for those that would like to support my efforts.
A free version will also become available at some point in the future.

Very nice chunky graphics!
I would have preferred to hear the sound the game made as opposed to the techno soundtrack - or was that the in-game music?
Hope it does well!

Thanks for the feedback.

Being an unexpanded game with a bunch of custom multicolor graphics, the game has no music, but sound-effects only.

However i put quite a bit of time in getting the sound-effects just right for the job, as i feel audio feedback is very important to this type of game.

I am very pleased on how the sound turned out. I'm pretty busy at the moment with a bunch of other stuff, but i might do a gameplay video for the game on the real thing at some point.

I'm looking forward to checking out the reviews.

Have you had a chance to record a gameplay demo yet? I'm really interested to hear the sound effects. :)

Also, if I was to buy this and a copy of Mayhem what the postage cost to the UK? Do you combine postage?

Thanks, P :)
