Not sure in which forum to post this, but I've got the methods for infiniate lives [thats actually 255 in most cases, but in the Vic days it seemed like infinity] on the following Vic 20 games...

Abductor - Llamasoft
Jet Pac - Ultimate Play The Game
Rockman - Mastertronic
Gridrunner - Llamasoft
Myriad [3k version not the 8k version] - Rabbit
The Perils of Willy - Software Projects

...if anyone is interested just let me know. Not everyone has the same levels of skill. I always found it impossible to get past level 23 of Perils of Willy for example, but with 200 extra lives you can go round and round all the screens as often as you want and see levels you otherwise would never get to play.

Interesting topic. It seemed to be two ways to do this; either increase the number of lives to start with or disable the counter that decreases lives. On the C64, cartridges like Action Replay had a POKE finder built-in, which made "training" games much easier than before. I'm sure your POKE for 3K Myriad would work on 8K too, only if you found the corresponding memory address.

Yes - I guess you could find the right memory location for the 8k version if you looked long enough, but I never did.

For the 3k version you Verify past the first loader program. Then TYPE Load [note - don't use run stop/restore]. Once the main program has loaded simply type Poke 1512,255 : SYS1175. Bingo - you can play until your fingers drop off.

Without cheating by having 255 lives my highscore was only 68600 though - things got too hectic on screen after that.

Without knowing which memory layout Myriad uses, I would suggest either POKE 8680,255:SYS 8343 or POKE 4584,255:SYS 4247.
