I concur with the other poster(s) for an 'extra RAM' version with either a bigger play area or more bits added to the game mechanic. Playing this game is quite hypnotic :-)

Regards,

Shaun.

I was flipping through this month's Retro Gamer Magazine (issue 94) and I noticed The Keep was reviewed its homebrew section. It scored 73% if I remember correctly. Probably deserves even higher, but well done anyway, Kweepa.

Thanks! I haven't seen it yet on the printed page - the local bookshop still has #93 - but I was a bit disappointed by the score. I suppose it was judged more on its gameplay than its tech.

This game is sooooo great! But I feel that I need a pause function. After 20-25 levels or so, my back hurts and I get hungry. It would be great to be able to pause it (i.e freeze the lamp status). Possible?

I don't remember how many bytes free there are, but in principle a pause should be easy to add.
When the map is up it doesn't look like the lamp burns, so you could try leaning something lumpy on the map key.

Change the map key to shift. You could then use shift/lock as a pause.

I'm curious to try ... but where do I get it from? The old download link doesn't work.
