Thanks for all the encouragement.

I had an object lesson in the value of backups today. The flash drive I've been using for my development of the game corrupted and is now unreadable by any computer. Fortunately I've been taking regular daily backup to another flash drive and only lost around 2 hours of code changes. I've already re-implemented those changes and everything is back on track. A new flash drive will be purchased tomorrow too....

I'm afraid not... want to try posting to his blog (in his sig)? He hasn't replied to my emails, unfortunately. Hope he's OK.

I took your suggestion and put a post on the blog entry for Qbert. No response as yet. It looks like this may be a case of 'so close yet so far'. If that's the case it's a real shame. :(

Well, I have all the graphics available should anyone want to pick it up where he left off. Unfortunately, no source...

Just seen this thread for the first time. Did anyone retain a copy of the binary from when it was available and can share it?

I take it the guy just disappeared?

He was last active here on Oct, 13th 2014 according to his profile, selling off his MegaCart and VIC-collection. Sadly, saehn (who did the graphics) is another story: -> http://www.helpfindshanefell.com

I suppose someone should still have the latest binary he posted, maybe Mike? This was a few months before I found this forum...

Sad news indeed...

Thanks for sharing. Quite a nice version of Q*Bert, seems 90% complete.

thanks for the vote of confidence, but I'm currently on a well earned rest :)

Without the source code, it would be like starting from scratch and even if it could be reverse engineered, the ethics of stealing someone's abandoned/unfinished code are questionable.

I know this is a blast from the past, but I just came across this thread, and wondered if this was ever finished?

don't think so, would be a case of starting again.

this and some of the games in the wish list thread could be open to a wider audience to attempt now using the new TRSE environment.
