Nah, if he makes a follow-up it should be called something like Manu Maru.

TEN/TEN

Post by TarkaTOtter »

Well I'll be blown over by a sparrows song

I never thought I'd enjoy Ten/Ten but I was totally wrong

I normally play Radar rat race, river rescue and blitz
I think those games will have to take second place now

Thank you so much

It's always fun to know that your programs are appreciated, so I just wanted to tell you that I played this game tonight, really enjoyed it, and broke my record... with one point! :)

Thanks! It really does mean a lot to me. If you are wondering, here is the latest version: http://sleepingelephant.com/denial/TTF1.zip Be sure to type POKE 7678,0 before you RUN (That's just a temporary issue with this version).

There are many changes, so your scores may change. Sorry.

I have tried your new version now and my top score was 121. I think you should call this version Ten Ten 2011 or something to not confuse it with your first version. And I think the level of difficulty increases too fast. "Ten Ten Again" felt a bit too difficult as well and that is maybe why I prefer the original Ten Ten over it. The original has the right level of difficulty to keep it interesting. If a game feels too hard, it isn't as fun. So I think you should try to balance the difficulty a bit. I guess it depends on the elapsing time.

Great feedback. Do you think it is better to have three goals per maze or one? I think I made it a little too difficult to balance the scores between the old and new version. You're right. I'm going to adjust this.

Thanks. The three goals per maze - Maybe that is one contributing thing that makes it feel easier. Because if you are a bit slow on one of the three goals then you can still manage it. But if there only is one goal per time, if you are slow on that one, you are dead.

Yesterday I gave a try to Ten-ten. At first I had no idea about what to do.
Few seconds later, I got it.
Then another problem arose: "Ok, I know what to do... but HOW I can achieve the goal?"

There is a good, original concept behind Ten-ten. And the game is very well programmed, it's amazing that it is entirely in BASIC. I also like the sounds effects.
Playing it I began to love the game after just few minutes. Great work.
It's amazing, after almost 30 years, to play games that runs on an unexpanded Vic!!! :P

Thanks for sharing your work with us.
