What is your Omega Race highscore (3 ships play)?

I have absolutely no idea.

As it's probably been two decades since I played Omega Race my poll vote is just a poorly remembered guess. It was over 100,000 but by how much I'm not sure, so I'll say 100k - 120k.

My highest score may not have been entirely mine as we sometimes used to play as a group taking turns with the joystick. Fun days.

Lee.

So am I the only one who have seen the screen "Droid force 2 elimenated"? And actually managed to clear a screen after that? My high-score is 184.000...

what do you like to do when the nice victory music come on before the next screen comes up?

i like to constantly thrust while doing tight turns. like free time for the pilot :)

First I shoot down all remaining squares and triangels. If there are none, then just as you say, som free pilot time! Sometimes I try to go around the middle box without bumping into the walls. That's pretty tricky... ;)

I always maximum thrust into one of the top corners and keep bouncing there trying to get perfectly into the corner.

Is that strange?

LOL, what an obscure topic. So it's not just me!

I try to get the ship "stuck" beside the center box. You get the bounce sound playing continuously, which clashes nicely with the victory music.

I have almost never played Omega Race on the VIC (although an image sits on one of my floppies). I keep a note book on personal records, but there were none in the VIC-20 section. In the C64 section however, I once had scored 59,000 pts so I guess that has to be my record, despite achieved on the "wrong" platform.

The C64 version really sucks!!! :D I had it once, but it dissapeared for some reason. And I didn't try to get it again because it was simply not worth having...

Everything on the 64 looks too tall, narrow, and just... vertical!

For a good comparison try gridrunner!

Yes, but the C64 version of Omega Race is completely different, using sprites... A big blue sprite for the ship - if my memory serves me right...

No, it is just as B&W as the VIC-20 version. While the sprite emulating routines could've been ported, it's rather logical to use hardware sprites as they were available anyway.

My new high-score is 206250. But I don't think I can change my vote... ;)
