Worst VIC game ever! A definitive list.

Post by Jeff-20 »

Leeee started it. Carts, tapes, type-in programs, etc. are all fair game.

What are the worst games out there?

I guess you mean the worst commercial game? Or else you can just take anyones first programming attempt. ;)

Oh, you didn't ;) In that case, I nominate my own game: "Robot slalom". :D

A couple of bad games

Post by Tonks »

As far as commercial games, the worst games to come out on cart would have to be Menagerie and Cosmic Cruncher. Both of these games just never go into my cartridge port. They would have been bad games if they came out on tape, but on cart makes them simply evil.

Story Machine by Spinnaker/HES. Again, I'm too old, but unless the archived version is very buggy, it is almost impossible to write a story if you try to use an invalid word - the program refuses to continue your story from the last proper word.

Besides, what fun is it for a kid learning to write if the computer says ERROR all the time when spelling wrong or trying to use more words than the computer knows? If I had been the (English speaking) kid, I had told my dad to switch to another cartridge, preferrably a game where I could enjoy myself.

My youngest plays it still :)

The worst would be the Cascade 40 Games in one tape...they were all woeful.

There were a couple of good games in the 50. Nothing to make it worth £10 though!

it was 50 was it?
I agree tho, 10 quid was a lot for it, and what was worse was that it was either $29.00 or even $39.00 by the time it got over here :)

you know, I'm actually inspired to dig it out and have a look again, I seem to be suffering a bout of nostalgia...is there a TAP available for it? (The Cascade 50 in 1 that is)
