These Atari games come to mind:

Missile Command, Asteroids and Star Raiders.

Since Atarisoft was quite aggressive for the VIC-20, I suppose they could have done them (I suppose Space Invaders too, but Commodore beat them to it with Avenger).

I also miss Joust (which was made by Williams Electronics if I remember, although Atari seemed to make it for all of their machines).

We were recently saved from missing Tetris!

Q-Bert was made for the VIC by Parker Brothers but it REALLY sucks...

But what truly amazes me is how much nicer both Omega Race and Lunar Leeper are on the VIC than they are on the 64!!

Come to think of it, the arcade version of Tron, which was really 4 games in one, could easily have been made for the VIC.

I sometimes play it using MAME.

Why not PONG.
I thinks it's relatively easy to do a Vic-20 conversion. Very nice Paddles implementation.

I think the general concept of Pong was replaced by Super Smash (Breakout) as a better solitaire solution.

Yes Retro Ball is fun but is not for Vic-20 and doesn't remember me the PONG atmosphere.

For Super Smash may be an optimal way to start a Pong Clone but how to deassemble the code, using Vice Monitor? but it's possible to bring back the code to DASM?
