The story

Lala wanted to be a witch by all means, so she entered the Great Witch Academy, led by Mistress Morgana la Marrana, who admited her cause she didn't have any pupils because of the worldwide crisis.
Morgana herself teached the very first basics of magic and sorcery to Lala, who was not a very good student.
One day, Morgana ran out of chipped man bile, so she went to the supermarket to buy some and Lala had to stay on her own in the academy with all those machines and magic filters to her disposal.
She began trying some spells, and as nothing happened, she just opened the windows so to freshen the air.
But before she could be aware, all the pots with magical filters and chemicals flew off thru' the window scattering all around the surroundings.

The game

Take control of Lala accross the decrepit surroundings of Morgana's academy, looking for all her filters and chemicals. To progress in your adventure you have to fetch and use some keys which will open a series of gates, giving you access to new areas.
Avoid the flying nasties and spike traps around the cemetary and the churches around, which can be really fatal. To regain some life, you can eat heart-shaped lollipops which will lay scattered here and there and which will appear once you've collected some filters and formulae, in screens already visited.

Controls

Use joystick : left-right and fire to jump.

I saw the C64 post on Lemon and that already got me a bit excited but on Vic it is really something else! Very rarely has such superbly defined Spectrum graphics been seen on Vic. Misfit's monochrome games are excellently defined but this also has great colors.

Oh my God! This looks really amazing! We really didn't taste anything of the power of our beloved vic, back in the days!!!

wow! looks awesome. How do they do this without sprites? Can somebody point to a thread that explains this to me? :)

Hmm.. I don't know of a really good guide for this. Its basically done by placing 3x3 custom chars on screen, copying the original 3x3 chars into this, then maskin out the background with a sprite mask and copying the sprite into it.

For a 3x3 char area you have enough space for a 16x16 pixel sprite, and smooth movement is done by shifting the sprite (pixel by pixel) before it is copied into the 3x3 char area. You also need to shift the sprite mask.

This has to be done once every frame to get smooth and fast pixel scrolling. Due to the amount of work needed, it takes up considerable amount of cpu resources. My guess is that a maximum of 3 or 4 sprites can be done this way if you want to move them every frame.

Here is a mario scroller that may explain parts of it: http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bul ... f=2&t=6013

Will create a diskette with your wonderful trilogy, it really deserves to be played on a Vic. BTW, is it for sale as a physical release somewhere?

YouTube video looks great but on real hw supplied d64 doesn‘t work right, often hero is lifting instead of falling
