My grandfather's large B/W TV which dated from the late 1950s !!

ADDED EDIT:
Reading other people's post, I realize back in 1983, I felt quite miserable when comparing with my neighbor's VIC-20 setup who had a nice little 14" color TV. Now I dawn on the fact I had a near perfect sound quality when setting to channel 4 (the default was 3 on the modulator, I think) and the BW picture was very crisp/sharp with no noise or display artefacting.

Most importantly my neighbor had no memory expansion and I had a 8k RAM cart which I used to play dumped cartridges. Gotta admit it was better to have the expansion than a color TV.

A small B/W portable with a dial tuner. At the time I think the main family TV was still B/W as well, so no colour anywhere in the house.

I bought a colour TV for £40 (all I could afford) but it was terrible, it buzzed like mad and had horrible colour bleed.

My parents' big, clunky b/w TV set, which buzzed a lot and took forever to display something readable :) .

This little black and white TV. Look at the little radio by the TV used to tune in to the tape sound.

Maybe one should pick out that TV from the closet and only use tape... for the right retro feeling.

Oh the fights over the family TV when you were playing a long game and someone's favourite TV show was about to start!

We barely had proper shirts on our butts but there has always been a colour TV. ;)

Whatever 14 inch display we had might be B/W or colour depending on which one was available.

On rare occasion my family's color tv, but I think I used an older B&W model mostly. As most of you know, that would make no difference to me. :p The only problem with BW tvs was a tendency for overscan. I could only see 21 of the 22 columns!

My VIC had black and white, but I remember when I got my first colour TV for my C64. Oh, these colours.. amazing. I made a new basic game because I had colours.
