I wrote about this in another thread, but that thread was a question about the MegaCart so the point
below may get looked over... so i thought it needed its own shout...
I have got an sd2iec from "theFutureis8Bit" store that I use on my c64.
Using this on the Vic also would be a great befefit too it seems?
What kind of file types will this device handle on the Vic? And what can i forget about? Carts? But are Cart games available as .PRG too pretty much?
I'll of course be using a menu loader prog. . . and a great loader prog would be...?
Is there a good place to find "All the Vic 20" programs ever made" all in one place? (PM if nessacesary)
There's lots of places to find collections... I just wondered if there was a "Best one" that I've not found.
If they're segregated into rom sizes that would be cool to (3k-8k-16k etc).
.... One last thing... As I'm a VIC NOOB... Who is about to get his first machine in about 3 days... (Model not yet decided)
Is there any reason to favour a German VC-20 (without the "i as opposed to any other revision of the machine?
On the c64 some people will sell their granny to get a "silver label". Or an ALDI branded 64. Etc... I just wondered
If there was any such reason to favor one label over another in the VIC world, or is it mainly a split between
old style 2 pin power ow newer rainbow stripe.
Or go with what takes your fancy?
ThanX

Here you will find download links to carts and disk images http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bul ... =11&t=7814 as well as 2 loaders. 2 other good buys are the expansion kit from k3ys and behr-bonz from elaspion
You already started a discussion about which vic to buy here. http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bul ... f=1&t=7822
The German vc and English vic are identical, only vic is pronounced fick in German that means f'ck in English.
Or you can do what I did and buy both. The same with 5AC and 9vAC.
