Vertical Striping on blue from screen grabber

Post by beamrider »

I tried to make a long-play video for Popeye from my real Vic using a video capture device, however it comes up with vertical bars when displaying blue, like the following image. Any idea as to why this is happening and how to avoid it? - the same signal fed to the Commodore monitor looks ok.

The previous Behr-Bonz menu for PAL machines had the same problem.

PAL color encoding causes that, try to go S-Video.
Be normal.

ok, thanks. Would try the S-Video mod but not sure that I'm good enough with the soldering iron...

I just got my new PAL VIC-20 here and the only TV I have that's PAL compatible is a nice little 19" flat panel. When testing the newly arrived board, I noticed exactly the same vertical striping.

Seems like a constant factor with PAL VIC-20s.
Be normal.
