Thanks to a most simple trick there's a quarter more bandwidth, stability of frequency and less distortions caused by low frequencies.

And there're no border effects anymore as they tend to ruin the sound on leaky circuitry.

I played around with audio recordings last night and didn't get anything usable out of it.
I'm not clear on whether or not you have an actual VIC-20, as in the beginning of this thread it seemed like you were asking people to try your program on real hardware (I assume because you don't have a real VIC-20).

Did you test TAP TONE on an actual VIC-20 and datasette? If so the only explanation I can give is perhaps you are using a PAL VIC? I"m using an NTSC one.

Nah. Did a small piece of code to check what's actually coming through from an audio recording and it wasn't much.
