Jumping, shooting, elevators, bats, the living dead (skeletons instead of mummies) - reminds me about Pharaoh's Curse!
Looks excellent.
The 'micro-scrolling' (I guess by necessity rather than by design) makes it even cooler.

Re: Finished - C16 Kikstart - Vic 20 16K PAL
I just wanted to add some reflections about scrolling. In most horizontal shooters, the scrolling speed is fixed and uncoupled from the ship's movements. This allows for combinations: smooth ship & jerky scroll or smooth scroll & jerky ship. There are several well-known examples. MSX Nemesis...

Re: Pharaoh's Curse
Perhaps The Best from the original VIC-game catalogue of the (early) 80s. It was released a little too late to achieve widespread recognition and earn the same reputation as Tom Griner's superb output. In the January 1985 issue of Personal Computer Games it is awarded VIC game of the year : VIC GAME...

Re: Mobile Attack
Mobile Attack seems to be the same game as Titan, but with sfx for shooting (replacing a droning background noise). A while ago I decided to sort out the taxonomy of these kind of games and Titan/Mobile Attack is a clone of Exidy's 1980 game Spectar https://www.mamedev.org/roms/spectar/ Spectar in t...

Re: VIC Game Club No. 7 – Game Theories
Latest issue of Retrogamer #185 mentions features Game Theory as an example of 8-bit minigames in the article The Making Of Batalyx (Batalyx is a Jeff Minter C64 game). It's just two sentences: "This homebrew release for the VIC-20 riffs on WarioWare with tiny challenges lasting just a few seco...

Re: Coming soon : Lala Prologue
I saw the C64 post on Lemon and that already got me a bit excited but on Vic it is really something else! Very rarely has such superbly defined Spectrum graphics been seen on Vic. Misfit's monochrome games are excellently defined but this also has great colors.
Re: Spikes
And then 19 on VIC. It becomes easier again after about 12 points or so.
Re: Spikes
Suddenly I got the hang of it. 21 points on the C64 and perhaps I heard the complete tune?
Re: Escape
I tried very hard but still haven't completed the first level...
The combination of the typical sluggish response of Basic games, forward auto movement, and death by wall collision, makes it incredibly frustrating.
Less narrow passages could be a workaround?

Re: Spikes
12! With unchanged proportions so perhaps my initial troubles were caused by playing the C64-version before.

Re: New Release: Exit Plan Z 2
Had another go at "virtually impossible" difficulty. It was not that bad. You have to move both strategically and fast (to use your speed advantage). I like that there is no "Evil Otto" or constant spawning of Zombies so that you can bide your time and wait for passages "ope...
Re: Spikes
Plays just as smoothly and responsively as the C64-version! For sure a delightful little game! The squashed screen proportions makes it quite a bit harder. But even when I play it with exactly the same proportions as the C64-version (by changing Vice window size) it feels somewhat harder. I have man...

Zena, the multi color game, stands out a bit. It actually looks like a Xevious clone!
Dirty Climber looks like the Crazy Climber clone I had on a tape with a lot of copied games.

Re: Spikes : musician wanted.
I tried the C64-game and loved the presentation. It played well too. Music is essential as a motivator in a game like this. At a score of 10 it started to sound a bit like Bubble Bobble and I really wanted to hear more but failed. I must try again later. Beamrider can, for sure, do the music justice...

Re: New Release: Exit Plan Z 2
The flicker effect in the first one left me feeling disoriented after an hour of play. I've thought about attaching a warning. I did enjoy how simple the effect worked out. I felt the whack a z battle system was a fun idea but the 8 directional control didn't work very well on hardware. A wanted di...
