Re: 6560 FPGA Progress.
Meanwhile, what am I supposed to see with this test because I am not† seeing it on VICE (3.6.1)? I guess I'll have to get down-n-dirty with some real hardware. And then try to reproduce the intended weird behavior. It's a lot easier to do this if you can screenshot VICE and send the image to the pr...

Re: GoFundMe for new C128D/DCR keyboards
While a very good idea in general, this is not even a Kickstarter. RIght now it looks like some guy had an idea and is asking for money. I'd expect a little more research to be done before I offer to pitch in. Like: - is it feasible to create such a keyboard today for a resonable price? I'd suspect ...

Re: 6560 FPGA Progress.
There is a bare-bones test-program by mathop in the original post:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10125&start=15#p114218
Just about 30 bytes. I tried this once and believe I got a rolling picture.

Re: 6560 FPGA Progress.
I could not remember, so I checked the thread with the answer: http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10125&start=15#p114048 Essentially try my NTSC-demos to confirm correct behaviour: https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=61101 https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?whic...

Re: 6560 FPGA Progress.
It also has to be noted that it is of importance which field is displayed when switching from non-interlace to interlace-mode. My first programs that made use of NTSC-interlace from ca. 2012 depend on that behaviour, because back then I falsely assumed that line 262 is only available in one of the t...

Re: VIC Crash game
Just realised this that the 1981 VIC game "Car Chase" by Andy Finkel himself is obviously the same game-principle.

Re: Super Monza Grand Prix
I have always loved racing games and there are so few that are in 3D on the VIC-20. This is certainly a very nice example! You should not let yourself limit by the +16K expansion-limit. Nowadays most serious users will have +32K or +35K. Of course I understand the "historical" challenge of...

Re: NTSC vs PAL
Basically polling $9004 is a valid way to check if you have an NTSC- or PAL-VIC. I did a similar routine to check if an emulator is used back before VICE supported NTSC-interlace. But you can easily use the same method to check for PAL/NTSC: .C:033c A9 00 LDA #$00 .C:033e 8D 54 03 STA $0354 .C:0341 ...

Re: new game: get-more-diamonds
Wow, the difficulty is just insane. Even with the trainer-POKEs this is annoying. I had to resort to VICE-save-states. No idea how to do this with just 3 lives. Technically the game is brilliant: colorful graphics, software-sprites, catchy tunes, nice level-design, making use of the full 35K. I just...

Last post on Forum64 by peiselulli on this was on Apr, 21st, where he replied to the question whether there were any news with "Leider bisher noch nicht ", which means "unfortunately not yet". Hopefully they can work something out still.
