Thanks for the info on the palettes Mike. I'm not really using the colours as such yet, just displaying existing images using the defined palette. So I can create a new palette from the colours you have given me. I was unsure of which palette colours to use, so I Googled and found them on a Wiki pag...

Thanks for the encouragement Rob. I finally got it correctly decoding the colour map today. http://www.users.on.net/~hawkeys/mike/retro_computing/vic-20/denial/gimp_plugin/GimpPluginSample2.png http://www.users.on.net/~hawkeys/mike/retro_computing/vic-20/denial/gimp_plugin/GimpPluginSample3.png The ...

Minigrafik GIMP Plugin Development

Hi All, I've been having a play with a GIMP plugin that reads Minigrafik files. I finally had some success today, and I wanted to share it with you. It took a bit of fiddling, and when the image finally appeared, it was like magic! I've been working from the cbmplugs and have attempted to add the Vi...

I wanted to add my thanks to Orion for a great game. I've been playing it on real hardware and find that the loading times allow me time to do two things at once. I was struggling to win until I upgraded to V7 today and finished in 86 weeks. Starting with above average stats makes a difference. I re...

An Atari 400 was my first computer, and back then, I thought it was the bees-knees. The 64 hadn't been release yet, and it was a choice of the 400 (16k) or VIC-20 (3.5k). It turns out that there's more to selecting a computer than on specs alone. I was the only person I knew who had an Atari. My fri...

I don't think DiskTool will run out of the box using Mono... If it comes to that, I could do my development in Windows under VMware Fusion, but I'm trying to move across to native OSX for as much as possible. Hence the reason I'm using Code::Blocks...I can run it under Windows, Linux and OSX. I'm n...

It's the complete VB2008 project folder - be warned, my sources are not made for the public so you will have some fun trying to understand them  Oh bugga...I should have asked what language it was written in before even considering re-compilation. I'm guessing that VB will require a comple...

Hi Schlowski, This is great. I've just been setting up a new development environment using Code::Blocks, and I wanted to add the post compile steps to load files into a disk image after they were built. It worked great, but I can't believe I had to download 60MB of .NET Framework! Anyway, I ...

Hi Jeff, Number 25 arrived safely here in Oz. I returned home from Christmas with my folks to find it waiting at the Post Office. Thanks for a most unexpected gift. Like others, I'm very impressed with quality and thought behind the whole package. It's currently 40degC here so the shed is a might bi...

What would be really cool is if these could be loaded with an nvSRAM, like the FlexiCart hacks of standard carts, so anyone could easily program them without needing an EEPROM programmer.

I wonder what the pinouts of the EEPROM that he's using are...
