Re: Simplest S-Video mod
I see I was quoted, don't know why and I'd like to point out that quotes aren't facts, not necessarily everything that I wrote either. What's the problem? Seems there's some dick comparing contest here about who's right and who's not? I can't stress this enough, read it carefully: I'm not saying any...

Re: My 2-prong DC PSU experiments
It would be kind of odd if it wasn't cooler by the graetz bridge when running DC there - but if running DC,why keep it at all, it's of no use and you'd save two warm diodes.

Re: WTB: Black C2N, 6540 ROM, 6550 RAM (PET parts).
I have gotten a proper tape drive/datassette and made replacement RAM and ROM for the two that where broken, heatsinked the other chips.
Would still be nice to get original RAM and ROM chip as stated above, if possible.

Re: VIC 20 metal badge
I noticed some badges were sold on Swedish Tradera recently, I guess they're abundant in Sweden for some reason.

Pretty much the same kind of pack that I originally had (now sold out).

Re: BasEdit.NET
Enthusiasm will last about as long as the Ten line basic competition, when programming freely without the need to press things together in long lines with abbreviations programming directly on the real machine, in WinVICE or CBM prg Studio works just as well. ;-) Then next year... we back on square ...

Re: BasEdit.NET
I'm revisiting BasEdit.Net and Visual Studio 2010... Still trying to stuff abbreviations as an accepted alias to the original keyword (commands). Last years edit accepts a second column of token words, if I keep to normal characters it works, adding end, xend etc etc will end up saving the keyword x...

WTB: Black C2N, 6540 ROM, 6550 RAM (PET parts).
So I got this PET 2001-8C, it has the wrong kind of tape drive, it's the narrow kind with white buttons and the cut off corner. Which seems to be the version for the "blue PET" and doesn't fit the shell properly of the 2001-8C that I've got as can be seen below: http://s10.postimg.org/8bis...

Re: Not quite... The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64
Is there an upside to sPLAtt? Cheaper, less current? Any reason at all to use that instead of a U17 PLAnkton?
Maybe use four 128kb chips - or eight 64kb chips going down to 8kb and create the largest PLA replacement ever seen...

Com TALKER 20/64
Seems to be a voice synthesizer (as there's the Voice Messenger/Currah Speech 64/ComTALKER 64 by RIST), it's connected to the user port so I assume it's supposed to be used for either VIC-20 or C64. Someone posted it on lemon64.com, just wanted to ask if anyone here has software for it? I'm guessing...

Re: VIC humming, then going black and white
Get the above mentioned replacement for $8.95 to get a cooler machine, shipping was only $6.95 (to Sweden) so they seem to have reasonable shipping costs. Swap all electrolytic caps if you have no way of testing them... and maybe then it will run just fine. ;-) Maybe stuff one of these new type of l...
