That's rather a long way away from me, but I hope you people have fun!
I'd be curious to hear about VIC20 stuff demonstrated there.

Thanks for the info! Well, at least there's the 22-column version as a text editor for me to use.

Re: "vi" for the VIC-20!
Clumsying around with this. Setting xvic to 24K, I can run vi65_vic20_22 by dragging it into the emulator. Sweet! Esc mapped to Run/Stop takes me to Normal Mode. i inserts, y yanks, p pastes, / searches, :q leaves. All good! Now when I drag the others, vi65_vic20_40, vi65_vic20_32, vi65_vic20_26, on...

Re: what is this key???
When typing lines of basic, after the first quote ", the colour and reverse on/off keys will show as inverted symbols in stead of changing the text colour. Within quotes, those inverted symbols work as colour settings for the text that follows. Ending quotes " will turn the keys back to no...

Re: How do you make a demo?
I don't know much about demo programming myself, but I'm looking into this Pascal compiler's tutorial to learn some things: http://www.lemonspawn.com/turbo-rascal-syntax-error-expected-but-begin/downloads/ Maybe it can help you as well. For example, VIC tutorial 2 does an animated tunnel effect. htt...

I guess my 32KB expansion will suffice for most, and I'll use an emulator for the really big programs.

Re: Is 32k expansion common among VIC-20 enthusiasts?
$9400-$a000 for the extra 3K in a 35K expansion?? To cut the story short: no, it's $0400..$0FFF. The same position the +3K RAM expansion takes on its own, as I already wrote. Thanks for pointing it out for me. The thing you already wrote is, I think, "To the same place it'd go on its own."...

Re: Is 32k expansion common among VIC-20 enthusiasts?
I have a 32KB expansion (Ultimate Expander), and I thought that would fill all the memory blocks. Where in the memory map does the extra 3KB in a 35KB expansion go? I looked at the memory map thread http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8921 and thought the whole 64...

As an alternative to symbols in gif pictures, there are a lot available in unicode now. https://unicode-table.com/en/#1F5AC : Soft Shell Floppy Disk, Unicode number: U+1F5AC, HTML-code: 🖬. : Tape Cartridge, Unicode number: U+1F5AD, HTML-code: 🖭 (I haven't found one that looks...

Hm, my new attempts are worse that my previous, either with joystick or, more controlled, with keys.
