The PAL one I pulled apart the other week has a switch. Maybe not having a switch is country specific.

My Forum Problem

Every once in a while this occurs to me on this forum. I close the web browser and all the topics marked as unread become read. At first I thought I should log out first but when I tried that logging out would mark all posts as read. I don't know if this is some PHPBB problem related to my web brows...

Welcome to the world of Spectrum Chess. Moves are entered in x-coordinate comma y-coordinate fashion. e.g. FROM? 8,2 TO? 8,4 It does not check for the legality of a move not even silly mistakes such as moving no piece over another try 8,4 to 8,2 to delete the pawn instead of moving it up the board....

one line game

The following is the code for the game. You have to guess a number of 1 or 2. It does not fit on a single line unless you use the token shortcuts. In this case I used ? for print. 10 inputg%:x%=rnd(0)*2+1:printx%:c$="correct":print"in"+c$:ifg%andx%thenprint"{up}"+c$+&qu...

I don't think anyone wants to just host the Database. They want a website that they can browse online. Like this http://www.mobygames.com/home Of course that is going to take a lot of work. Maybe you should concentrate on releasing 2.0 and make 3.0 a website. Another option is that instead of releas...

I did the same thing with the RF adapter. Cut it up and created a video and sound out. Then I soldered it and used shrink wrap to seal it. I did not take pictures because mine was a very amateur effort. The only problem I had was to work out which was sound and which was the 5V line. I used a multim...

I should repeat this you can fit over 6000 floppy disk images in 1GB.

If you used one floppy each hour it would take 250 days to use them all. So you are pretty safe with that size.

If you had a 8GB drive then your time is extended to over 2000 days or 5 years.

Only I did the shipping as I didn't want it broken in transit. The buyer was only 1:45mins away but it cost me another 30 AUD or so in fuel. The other thing about this one is it has the original purchase receipts from 1982. Also it has the Manual and programmer Manual in Mint condition. I might pres...

With the VIC20 I just bought off Ebay it included a book of type-ins from Melbourne House called VIC Innovative Computing by Clifford Ramshaw. It includes a BASIC chess program. Later on this week I will type it in and post a link here.

News just in. I have gotten a VIC20 off Ebay. It did cost me 175 AUD but it works and it is in good condition, the plastic is not yellow and the box is in semi good shape. Also there were several books including one from Melbourne House. To get it on the TV I cut the cable to the RF box and connecte...
