I am examining the code you have written and am considering putting the rest of the game together. The only thing I don't understand is how to read and write the levels from the disk drive. I never had that when I was a kid, and I only got my uIEC this year.

Actually you only need 2 bits per tile unless there is not equal number of crates to destination tiles. Then you would need a 1bit deep bitmap that shows where the crates are on the destination tiles. However I find that is an ugly solution since in the origional game there are only 8/90 maps that n...

In Sokoban there are only 4 tiles if you discount the players starting position. This means you can use 2 bits to store each tile. At 20x16 you need 20 bytes + 2 bytes for storing the player start. 22Bytes x 90 levels is 1980 Bytes. It can actually be done smaller than that. The size of the playing ...

If I was spending that much money, I'd rather ask a developer to create a new VIC20 title.

Even if the title had a lot of nostaliga for me. More than 500 bucks is a lot of money to waste on reliving one small part of my childhood.

So do I understand this right? We are modifying the VIC so that the output instead of sending both the Chroma (Colour) and Luminance (Intensity) on the same wire they are sent on separate wires. This clears the picture up how? According to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video In composite ...

I picked up my Mega-Cart (#0070) from the post office today. It is great, combined with the uIEC it is fantastic. I can't wait to see what future hardware addons the VIC 20 community will create.

I bought my first soldering iron this year. When I was little my day would show me stuff like how to solder. He was a radio technician. We also had books for beginners. I was more interested in other things like programming and I didn't see how useful electronics could be back then. Now I buy kits a...

Maybe we could have a wiki week where each member tries to spend at least 2 hours working on the wiki. Wikipedia was not written by one person but rather by thousands. As each person wrote their piece it moved from being thousands of useless pieces of information to being a Encyclopaedia.

Did some more work under BASIC flow control. How many GOSUB's deep can the VIC20 execute? The answer I have is 23, I don't know if that is correct. :?:

Hopefully I will be able to work through some more BASIC this weekend.

Classical music is free domain. You can find the music notes on the Internet. The only problem is finding something with simple instruments (not an orchestra) that fits in with your game.

Also you don't need to play the entire piece you can just play an extract.

It says (c)1981 on the circuitboard. Now that you mentioned it in the other thread how do i tell if it is not a NTSC one? It came from a VIC20 purchased in Brisbane Queensland Australia. It says Philippines on two stickers on the inside and outside and inside (assume it was made there). It also says...
