Re: Games we want to see
I consider Imagic's Demon Attack a brilliant Phoenix clone and a technically outstanding Vic 20 game. But on the other hand, it doesn't have the super cool boss which was a crucial part of Phoenix. To find a Vic 20 arcade shooter with a big boss was always a dream for me. I guess Gorf and Xenon 2 we...

Re: Vic1001 game list
 This is just unbelievably good for a type-in game Heck, it is unbelievably good for a commercial +3K game. It captures the visual and aural essence of a state-of-the-art 1983 arcade game in a way that is perhaps unique on the Vic. Oh boy, imagine this as a +16K game with smooth scrolling and...

Re: New Game: VICSTRIP
This is a very impressive accomplishment! I am not much of a poker player (don't enjoy it as I never really got the rules) but I would love to see this graphics mode used in adventure games in the future. Or, *dreaming*, a scaled-down version of Defender of the Crown

Re: Upcoming H.E.R.O. game
I don't think "easily" is the most adequate word in the world here But on the other hand it was certainly not easy to make those early AAA games for the Atari 2600 either!

Re: Upcoming H.E.R.O. game
Even though I had seen pictures, I was a amazed by how good it looks in play. Large screen, lovely background colors and amazing hires, yet colorful, software sprites. I really need to get a SD2IEC so I can play this on a CRT with a proper joystick!

Re: Upcoming H.E.R.O. game
Looks ace! I liked the C64 version a lot but was always much more impressed by the Atari 2600 version. The plain color blocks seems to work fine here too, and I agree that a repetitive pattern would look less elegant. If it controls as well as the 2600 and C64 version, it will be a fantastic additio...

Re: Is there a V/H scrolling Football game for the VIC?
Not only Football games - there is a distinct lack of sports games as a whole on the Vic. There are a few type-ins but almost no commercial ones. I always dreamt of Track & Field for the Vic but Villain (cop chasing robber) was the closest I got.

Re: Full screen games
There were quite a few old Vic games that used a larger playing area than the standard 176x184. Moons of Jupiter (C. D Byrden , Romik) and Bongo (Udo Gertz, Kingsoft) were two of my favorites but I really likes Bonzo as well (Pit by the same guy was also a fine game but unexpanded and not full scree...

Re: Unpublished Italian game: FLIGHT, a flight sim!
Great work with the manual :D Absolutely fascinating that such a complex game (A 16K Flight Simulator with visuals! ) was published as a type-in in Italy in 1986. Incredible. Seems very inspired by C64 Solo Flight (which I always loved) I tried playing (before reading your entire post) but could onl...

Re: What games have a retained playfield > 1 screen?
Interesting subject - this was something I was always very aware of as a kid. I was always fond of Scorpion , Supavaders , Spiders of Mars , Protector , Lunar Leeper and Radar Rat Race just because they scrolled at least bi-directionally and that things happened outside screen. And Choplifter of cou...

Oh, I almost forgot that I could try out room 13 and 25. I think I will do that while my subconsciousness deals with your son's evilness and I can go back and fight it with a fresh and pure mind

Room 12 is driving me crazy...
9,10 & 11 were not so bad but room 8 was also very tough.
And there are 24 further levels

Re: Cheesy Trials
Had to eat some humble pie - stuck on room 7! But I won't resort to the guides just yet. My gamepad proved completely worthless for this kind of game, so I went back to keyboard controls in Vice. Wish I could play it with a real digital joystick, I bet the ladders (especially jumps from ladders - an...

Re: Cheesy Trials
This is brutally hard with a keyboard! But now, finding my USB gamepad and trying it again, I think I will do much better. Would love to play it on my real Vic with a real joystick (much prefer joysticks to gamepad) I did load it with my Savyour (an all in one USB save/load device and mouse/joystick...

Re: New release: Underwater Basket Weaving
What a cool puzzle concept It is completely fresh to me! I found it quite difficult at first but soon got the hang of it. Also, as always with Jeff's games - a very pleasant overall experience.
